Exit Rate is the percentage that were the last in the session. For all sessions that start with the page, Bounce Rate is the percentage that were the only one of the session. Bounce Rate for a page is based only on sessions that start with that page.

Exit rate as a term used in web site traffic is the percentage of visitors to a site who actively click away to a different site from a specific page, after possibly having visited any other pages on the site. The visitors just exited on that specific page.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single page visits or web sessions, It is the number of visits in which a person leaves your website from the landing page without browsing any further. Google analytics calculates and reports the bounce rate of a web page and bounce rate of a website.

Exit rate means a user is coming to your website and moving on to some other competitors website in a short while whereas Bounce rate depends on the single page visit or web session, by not browsing any further about the topic.

Bounce rate: It is the percentage of people who visited a page and immediately left.
Exit rate: It is the percentage of people who left your site from that page.

Both exit rate and bounce rate should not be high. If it so,it means that there are some problems with your site.
