Footer back-links work?
« on: October 26, 2017, 04:47:09 PM »
I typically add my website URL to the FOOTER of my clients websites after I build them but I'm not noticing any of those showing up as back-links.

Are links in the footer ignored by Google?

Now a days, footer links are ignore by the search engine because those are not first link on the website. They have very low CTR. So I would say, footer links can and does help you rank a site at some percentage. If you're a web developer who's afraid to take credit for your work, don't fret. If you want to be absolutely safe, and don't need the SEO benefit, go ahead and add a "nofollow" tag to the link.

Link is link. Better a footer link than 0 link. 8)

Footer links should definitely work, though they don't provide as much juice as one think they would.

A link inside a piece of content would probably generate more juice in the eyes of Google.
