Why keywords are so much important in SEO? Can i write freely and still think of getting traffic? Although presently I am running a coupon blog, but looking to start my personal blog, but wondering whether it will be success or not?

 Keywords are important not only for it. They're just keywords and they are important themselves. You can write freely or not very freely, but the traffic is something very difficult nowadays, because there are many websites online already. And I think your coupon niche is difficult. Most of the websites are not successful, as any other business. Not everyone is successful. But if you don't try, you'll never know. You can start with some blog and have a try. This is my opinion.  Personal blog? It's so easy. You can do it anytime. And, of course, you'll get some traffic, but it depends how much do you expect. For some persons 20 visitors per day is okay, but for others even 200 daily is not enough, because they need 300000  . So, I advise you to give it a try!

If you will not target any beneficial keyword then you wouldn't be able to rank in search engines. You cannot drive organic traffic to your website. You cannot drive sales from search engines to your website.
