How I did discover that truth/atheism is more important than money

  I'm living a not rich life. I don't think I'm poor, but I'm not rich at all. Well, I'm a philosopher, but there is no philosophy faculty in our city. That's why I'm working as a part-time foreign language family teacher and online; my offline and online earnings are small. I don't complain so much (my wife - do )... Well, now you can understand how important was for me (for us), to earn around $400 per month more. These money are not bad in our area (and not only in our area) nowadays. Well, here is the story:
 We have to met a mother, who represents her family + 2 more families. These families authorized her to meet us (the 2 teachers) and to assess if we're good enough. Well, it's not weird, but the weird was when she showed us a... Bible^{http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible} and started to ask us if we believe in it, in God, in Jesus and so one Christian "bla-bla"s. As a philosopher-materialist/scientist, I couldn't pretend I'm a religious person and I said I'm not a believer, I don't accept this kind of mythology (for my the religions are something like mithologies). She started to speak how even some scientist became believers. I told her that if it's true, it's their own-and-personal choice, not the science-itself choice... It was a hard and long debate... The result was:
- she didn't accept us as LANGUAGE teachers to those kids (for them the religion and the language education is somehow related!!!)
- we lost aroud $400 per week.
- we never accept to become Christians/religious/believers/etc. for money.
 (Long time ago I had some chances to become a preacher in Europe, but I never agreed no matter what's the salary/profit. I just CAN'T stand to speak about things I don't believe and things I think are fake/imaginary/etc.)
 Btw, I told her -- "If I wanted to follow some religions/sects, I will no come to live in China! I hope in China I can enjoy more scientific and atheistic lifestyle!"
 

That's it -- already many times in my life I chose the ATHEISM, the TRUTH, not the money, no matter how I need money all these years!
