Poetry thread

  Our poetry thread.
Let me start it with an amazing haiku:

"A Bat Flits"
(by Yosa Buson)

A bat flits
in moonlight
above the plum blossoms.
I will not write about SEO, but about love, food, UFO, sport, psychology, paranormal and everything else I like.

"Ozymandias"

Ozymandias

by Percy Bysshe Shelley
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
A fan of science, philosophy and so on. :)

The Fable (by Yvor Winters)

The Fable

by Yvor Winters

Beyond the steady rock the steady sea,
In movement more immovable than station,
Gathers and washes and is gone. It comes,
A slow obscure metonymy of motion,
Crumbling the inner barriers of the brain.
But the crossed rock braces the hills and makes
A steady quiet of the steady music,
Massive with peace.
And listen, now:
The foam receding down the sand silvers
Between the grains, thin, pure as virgin words,
Lending a sheen to Nothing, whispering.

"The Forest in the City"
« Reply #3 on: February 26, 2024, 12:56:18 AM »

The forest in the city

In the city's heart, a forest stands
Tall and proud, with girthy hands
Leaves rustle, birds sing sweet
In this urban woodland treat.

The trees, they dance and sway
Their limbs a-twirl, all day
Their bark, a canvas bright
For graffiti, day and night.

Their roots, they dig so deep
In search of water, pure and sweet
Their branches, they stretch and reach
For the sky, with graceful speech.

Their leaves, they rustle and play
In the breeze, all night and day
Their shade, a refuge true
For all, in this urban hue.

In the city's heart, a forest stands
Tall and proud, with girthy hands
A symbol of strength and grace
A place of peace, in this urban space.

"Apples and Oranges"
« Reply #4 on: February 26, 2024, 12:57:17 AM »

Apples and oranges

Aurora's dawn, a sight to see,
Apple trees in blossom, sweet and free.
Their petals fall like rain, you see,
Orange hues, a symphony.

The sun rises high in the sky,
Golden light, a wondrous sigh.
The apples grow, a juicy delight,
Orange zest, a flavorful sight.

In autumn's bounty, we find our peace,
Apple cider, a tasty release.
The oranges, a burst of sweetness,
A fruitful harvest, a treat to meet.

In winter's chill, a warm embrace,
Apple pie, a comforting grace.
The oranges, a burst of sun,
A fruitful year, a life well-won.

It is this way

It is this way

It is this way. By one I will trade a child (daughter) , to the other I'll grant the latter. Otherwise, I can't break the knot. I'm unsure of where I belong. I don't think there is much kindred anywhere. Apologize me for all in advance, if anything ever occur. I'm yet clean, so prayers are badly needed. We will let her take our future common daughter, okay? She is my sissy. IO her, and I mean some tie. No constraint, I won't touch her all the same.

Cow and Sheep

Cow and Sheep

Cow and Sheep

In fields of green, where winds do gently blow
Lies a tale of two, a story to know.
Cow and sheep, so gentle and fair
Their bond so strong, without a single care.

Their days spent grazing, in sun or shade
Their nights spent dreaming, in a peacefulade.
Their lives so simple, yet so pure
Their love so strong, without a single blur.

Their moos and baas, a chorus so sweet
Echoing through the fields, a treat
Their horns and hooves, a symphony
A dance so graceful, a poetry.

Their friendship so strong, a bond so true
A tale of love, a story anew.
Cow and sheep, a duet so fine
A friendship so strong, a love divine.
I will not write about SEO, but about love, food, UFO, sport, psychology, paranormal and everything else I like.

Love, passion, care, happiness

Love, oh love, a force so strong and true,
It fills our hearts and souls with light anew.
With every breath, our passion grows,
A flame that burns, and never dims or goes.

In every kiss, our love is born,
A joy so deep, it never fades or scorn.
With every touch, our hearts entwine,
A bond so strong, it's truly divine.

With every word, our love is shared,
A bond so strong, it's truly rare.
In every moment, we find delight,
A happiness so pure, it's always in sight.

So let us cherish this love we hold,
And never let it fade or grow cold.
For with love, our hearts are made whole,
And our lives are filled with joy and soul.

Success
« Reply #8 on: March 01, 2024, 03:12:54 AM »

A poem about the success

A journey of triumph, marked by strides,
Where ambition and hard work align,
The path may be steep, but the prize abides,
In the glow of success, we truly shine.

Success is a beacon, a guiding light,
It fuels our passion and sparks our desire,
With every small victory, we take flight,
And in our hearts, a new fire ignites.

Yet, remember, success is not the end,
It's a stepping stone to a greater quest,
For growth and learning, we must ascend,
And cherish each moment, as life's test.

So, chase your dreams with unwavering zeal,
For success lies in the journey, not the goal,
Embrace the path, and you'll truly feel,
The power of success, your soul's sweet spoil.

Rich and Poor
« Reply #9 on: March 02, 2024, 02:00:01 AM »

Rich and Poor

In a world where wealth abounds,
The rich and poor are often found.
A gulf of fortune, vast and wide,
Separates these two sides.

The rich, with gold in their grasp,
Bask in the warmth of their cash.
Their lives adorned with luxury,
They revel in their opulence, with glee.

But on the other side, the poor,
Struggle to make it through each door.
With empty pockets and heavy hearts,
They dream of a life that's not apart.

Yet, in this contrasting display,
A lesson lies, in a subtle way.
For the rich can learn to share their wealth,
And the poor can find their own health.

The gap between them may be vast,
But the bond of humanity lasts.
For in the end, we're all the same,
Bound by love, and nothing else can tame.

Values (poem)
« Reply #10 on: March 03, 2024, 02:50:49 AM »

A poem about the values

Values

In the grand tapestry of life, where threads intertwine,
A spectrum of values, our guiding line.
They shape our character, our thoughts, and deeds,
A compass, steadfast, through life's uncharted seas.

Kindness, empathy, and love, the gentle breeze,
That nurtures hearts, and eases life's disease.
Honesty, truth, and trust, the sturdy oak,
That anchors relationships, and never breaks.

Courage, resilience, and hope, the fiery flame,
That fuels our spirit, and keeps us sane.
Patience, humility, and grace, the soft rain,
That soothes our souls, and washes away our pain.

Integrity, loyalty, and wisdom, the shining star,
That guides us through the darkness, and keeps us afar.
These values, precious gems, our souls adorn,
And make us who we are, in this world forlorn.
I will not write about SEO, but about love, food, UFO, sport, psychology, paranormal and everything else I like.
