Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee

A real photo of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan:
By Source, Fair use, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?curid=12376618.
By the way: Bruce Lee was born in November 27, 1940. And Jackie Chan was born in April 7, 1954. Only 13-14 years difference.

For me, very interesting was to see his home's interior in Hongkong; especially the pictures on the walls. 8) :D Interesting art test!

Bruce Lee has a granddaughter

Bruce Lee's granddaughter

Maybe the big fans of Bruce Lee know it already, but I learned about it right now and I want to share it here. Bruce Lee has a granddaughter. Bruce Lee's daughter -- Shannon Lee (李香凝), according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shannon_Lee married lawyer Anthony Keasler (in 1994), and later gave birth to their daughter. Well, this Shannon Lee's daughter is the granddaughter of Bruce Lee.

Lovely pic!

Another related to Bruce Lee thing: Concord Production Inc. (協和電影公司).
Quote
The Concord Production Inc. (Chinese: 協和電影公司) is a production company founded in 1971 from Hong Kong by Bruce Lee and Raymond Chow(50%). Lee was in charge of the creative decisions and Chow was in charge of the administration. After Lee's death, Linda, Lee's wife, sold his portion to Chow in 1976.

Fantastic images here. Things I've never seen before. Being a Bruce is a national hero of China, you have much more access to his history than we do.

Thank you all for showing these.

Oh, I wish it was true, but it's not exactly so. The most information is in his relatives, who are in Hongkong (well, it's already in China) and in the USA. I think Bruce Lee never visited China as far as I know.

Re: Bruce Lee

In fact he was only Chinese as ethnicity, because he is born in the USA. In a big Chinese encyclopedia -- http://baike.baidu.com/link?url=6eSxtAI1zvoO_hAtF9GKpdDmACVAovT5mDhiEVwE6Ww7tPZzsHJWInVZ9mfEpbgXi5wVX9fNgWwJy-02ig1h38387A1awzmkN41Yvo_iJbu -- he is described as a Chinese American.
He spent many years of his life in Hong Kong, which was a British colony that time. So, probably the rightest one is a Hong Kong American (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong_Americans).
I remember that in an interview he says he can't speak Mandarin (the official and the most widely spoken Chinese language in China), he speaks Cantonese (a Chinese dialect spoken mostly in Hongkong, Macao and Guangdong province of PRC) and English.
Many Chinese in China learned about Bruce Lee after the era of Mao Zedong. He dies 3 years after Bruce Lee.
If I have to point to some very popular martial artist and actor, which is 100% 'China Chinese' it's Jet Li (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_Li). :)
By the way, some Taiwanese think that Taiwan is the China (and they call themselves officially "Republic of China"), so adding this point of view, the things are getting even more complicated.
The situation (China-Hong Kong-Macao, Taiwan and Singapore) resembles the one in Balkans, where almost every country has a twin-country:
- Bulgaria and Macedonia
- Greece and the Greek Cyprus
- Turkey and the Turkish Cyprus
- Romania and Moldova
- Albania and Kosovo
- Serbia and Republika Srpska (a part of  Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina).

About Bruce Lee from his daughter Shannon Lee
« Reply #28 on: April 29, 2016, 03:27:11 AM »
We may learn about Bruce Lee from the answers of his daughter Shannon Lee. Here is what I learned today:

1. Bruce Lee was very success oriented.

2. He was actually an extremely accomplished fighter and for his size he was extremely strong and extremely fast.

3. He practiced several hours everyday and never let up on his training.

4. He sparred as often as he could and was challenged many times throughout his lifetime. He sparred with the top fighters of the day as well.

5. He was truly dedicated to martial arts more than anything and he studied the science of fighting (including the laws of physics and biomechanics).

6. He was a prolific writer.

7. Shannon's mom's favorite film is "Way of the Dragon", because she feels it really represents Bruce Lee as a person.

8. Bruce Lee was very much into body building, however he believed in training for function rather than size. When he first started lifting he got too bulky and found that it affected his flexibility and speed, so he changed his methods, and experimented with isometric training and other types to better serve his martial needs.

9. Bruce Lee's main motivation in life was self-cultivation. He wanted to "peel the onion" as it were. He wanted to expose his true essence and then express it out into the world. He was quintessentially himself.

10. He was quick to anger. He wanted things a certain way and he had high standards and sometimes he could lose it. The good thing about him was that he was self-aware. He knew when he had had a blow up and he would recover and reset, and apologize, and work on doing better next time. That was thing with him -- he was always in process and always self-improving, and being the observer of his own behavior and trying to affect change. He was pretty awesome that way.

11. He was terrible at: cooking, singing, and handyman type work. :)

12. "Way of the Dragon" is a film of Bruce Lee. Bruce wrote it, starred in it, produced it, directed it and choreographed it. It really shows his style and sense of humor.

13. Bruce Lee loved Chinese food most of all; oyster sauce beef, but he loved his wife's spaghetti too. He also liked to have an occasional root beer.

14. Shannon thinks that a lot of people think he (Bruce Lee) as arrogant. But he was just confident and self-assured and (by the way) extremely knowledgeable and accomplished. He was also extremely caring -- he liked to help people out as much as he could. Shannon also thinks that people don't realize the depth of who he was as a writer, creator, thinker, and innovator. He was an amazing man.
