Is it Christmas?
(some philosophical thoughts about it)
The question
is it Christmas the same as the other questions like
is it Monday,
is it October,
is it 3 A.M., etc. is a temporal question. It is related to the specific time period. That's why, in one year period of time, the answer of this
is it Christmas question will be
no (or, which is the same --
no, it isn't). For instance if you ask me "Is it Christmas?" now, I will answer "No, it isn't." and the same answer you'll get tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow. Yes, that's true.
For some of us Christmas is just a happy, merry festival. But in fact it is a religious stuff -- a Christian festival celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Now you understand why it is called Christmas, for sure.
And, well, for the people, who are really interested to get the answer of the main question and to learn more about the Christmas, I'd like to suggest these links:
