    Mother:"Now then, Delia, eat up all your greens like a good girl. They are good for the complexion, you know."
    Delia:"But I don't know to have a green complexion!"

   妈妈：“好啦，迪莉亚，要像乖姑娘，把你的蔬菜都吃光。你知道，蔬菜对你的肤色有好处。”
   迪莉亚：“我可不想长出一副绿的面孔！”

 Doctor: "You must take four teaspoonful of this medicine before every meal."
 Small patient: "But we've only got three teaspoon!"

           医   生：“这药你必须每次饭前服4茶匙。”
           小病人：“可是我们家只有3个茶匙！”

 “I don't think much of this mirror," said the small child.
 "Why not?" mother asked.
 "Well, every time I try to look at something my face gets in the way," mumbled the child.


           “我觉得这面镜子不怎么样，”小孩说。
           “为什么不怎么样？” 母亲问。
           “可不，每次我想瞧点什么东西的时候，我的脸就挡住了。”小孩嘟哝说。

   A guide was taking a party of visitors around a stately home. They stopped in front of a large grandfather clock and the guide said,"This clock is 350 years old and the big hand is twelve inches long."
  Before he could say another word, a little lad piped up, "If it's twelve inches long, it's not a hand. It's a foot."

      一个导游正领着一行参观者观看一座华贵的住宅。他们在一个有摆的落地大坐钟面前停了下来。导游说：“这钟已有350年之久，它的大指针有12英寸长。”
     在他还没来得及说另一个字时，一个小男孩尖声地说：“如果是12英寸长，那它就不是手，它是脚。”
