Shortnose Gar (Lepisosteus platostomus)

Shortnose Gar is invasive alien species, native to North America. Its eggs are highly toxic and inedible. Adult Shortnose Gar can be more than 3 meters long, they are  large carnivorous ferocious fish and will attack all other fish they meet.

Shortnose Gar is one of the world's top ten freshwater ferocious fish. Now they mostly live in tropical rivers of the United States, West Indies and some other places. According to reports, the gar is top-level poisoning fish, can produce highly toxic substances in the ovulation period. people will be poisoned only eating a few bites, or even life-threatening. So do not eat when people catch this kind of fish.

People try not to keep it as ornamental fish,  absolutely prohibit to eat and release, in order to avoid harm to themselves and the local aquaculture.
