If a web page does not load within 5 to 8 seconds, you run the risk of losing a big chunk of your visitors to your site, an estimated 60%! When you lose this much traffic you can kiss your precious money goodbye. Readers wants to access your content at a click of a button and if they are forced to wait too long next time you won’t be expecting them to visit your website again. Your website’s speed is closely connected to the bounce rate so your site should load as quickly as possible. What is the bounce rate? It is the percentage of single page visits which people left your site from the entrance page. The more compelling your entrance page is the more visitors will stay on your site.

If your visitors are “bouncing” it means chances are you better forget making money since visitor’s will not have the patience to stay on and click your sponsor’s ads. The links to your website should load fast. A faster loading time will attract more user’s attention more than a design laden pages which may be attractive but takes a long time to load. An improvement on your speed will increase your rankings too.

There are numerous factors that can contribute to the page loading of every web site. Some of this have to do with your page size, the size of the files that you will attached, the size of the graphics files on the page, your hosting provider, server delays, your reader’s connectivity, fancy widgets and your code. The ideal time to load a page is a minimum of 1 to 2 seconds and a maximum of 10 seconds. To check out whether your site is fast there are plenty of available resources on the internet.

To increase your website speed you have to do some research on which hosting provider can assist you with faster loading time. Use widgets in small doses. They might look cute but they do slow down your site. Keep your designs simple.

Do keep in mind that online visitors are impatient and might be annoyed if your website takes too long to load. They will be gone to move on to a much faster websiteHere are ways to Speed up your website:

• Optimized your images. You can turn to an online image optimizer.
• Compress or eliminate flash elements that are not needed. Use thumbnails. Specify image dimensions.
• Choose the right format. JPEG is use for photographs, GIF is use for flat color images such as logos or buttons and PNG works like GIF but supports more colors.
• Reduce the number of objects by combining CSS files with scripts.
• Learn some coding tricks to increase your web application’s efficiency.
• Reduce Http Requests from other sites since this slows down things.
• Connect to regular Http only.
• Upgrade your servers periodically or as needed. Upgrade your server’s memory too. Divide your server into two: content server and database server. Aside from adding more speed it is more secure.

google consider site speed as one of the main factors for search engine ranking moreover people wants websites to be open at eye blink speed. if a website is taking too much time to open then nobody will love to stay on that website.
