Gulangyu Islet

Gulangyu Islet is located in the southwest of Xiamen Island, separated with Xiamen by Lujiang, only 600 meters wide.

Gulangyu Islet, with the name Yuen Chau Tsai original, got this name in Ming dynasty, due to the southwest sea caves by wave with the sound like a drum. Because of historical reasons, Chinese and foreign styles of the buildings here were kept well together, so called "International Architecture Exhibition". The island has "the fertile soil" of music , there are a lot of talented people, there are the most pianos here, so it also has got the beautiful names "Piano Island" and "the land of music".
