Any solutions to prevent hackers?

Hi there!
Tell me this. Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers? I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers?
A last blog (wordpress) was hacked and it ended up losing many months of hard work due to no data backup in a case with another man. Bad.

Another man lost all of his articles and SERP rankings. So?

I don't have any solutions, but these:
Strong passwords
htaccess restr.
1 security plugin
good host

That's all.

Update the versions/editions of your softwares. Use anti-virus protection (and also upgrade and update it regularly)... What else?
