起中国名帮助

在学校里认识到一个老师，他的孩子学中文（大概五六岁），名字叫 Matthew,同时他也为他的几个小朋友寻求中文名，一个叫 James,一个叫 Tim ! 因为，对这方面的缺乏经验，我给 Matthew 按照中国同音字，给他取了马特威，其他两个还没定，有没有这类参考？或者请管理员谈谈给外国友人取名字的思路，我可以借鉴一下，谢谢。

这个嘛。。。。。。中国人起英文名字比较麻烦，老外起中文名字基本上就是取同音字。

James,Tim. 可以翻译为：吉姆，提姆. Hehe～
