End of the line for a model railway fan
61-year-old Mr. Robert is a train enthusiast. For decades, he spent all his spare time collecting and building model trains. Now in the attic of his home, he has been building model sets including 63 locomotives, 21 meters long rails, hand-crafted stations, depots, streets and tiny figures. But now he has been ordered to dismantle his £10,000 train set in his loft by his housing association on health and safety grounds. A social housing firm now says Robert has made 'alterations' to the two-bed 1950s property in Buckfastleigh, Devon, without permission - breaching strict planning regulations. They want the set removed while they carry out a safety assessment - but Robert would rather be evicted than tear up his treasured track.
Such a nice model train set
, I feel it very pity if it would really removed
