To create a backlink you should follow more off page seo techniques like web2.0, blog post, profile creation, business listing and document sharing sites. only forum posting would not help you out to get a more backlinks to your website

Why? If he (or she) posts a link in 1000 forums it equals 1000 links. 2000 forums = 2000 links, 3000 forums = 3000 links... :P

To increase Page Rank you need quality back links. Use link building techniques like... Social Bookmarking,Article submission,Blog Commenting!
