Title: Are you scared? I am.
Post by: Good incel on December 06, 2022, 07:14:58 PM
After the missile that lands in Moldova... after the one in Poland... after the escalation of the war... after the unstable politics in so many places around... and after the lack of female interest... I am scared I am going to have nothing after all...

How about you?

Well, I'm from Poland, it's not going to be next war with russia, yet I am angry that ukrainian government forces young man to die. Polish government try to use current situation and also force poles to obligatory military service just to supress potential riots bc they are driving country to crisis, stealing and taking civil rights. Dissatisfaction grows very fast in society so they want to send opposition to forced military. The worst part is that every political party voted for it...

In my opinion, a lot of people aren't forced into the military (however I don't know about any other country besides my own) and they volunteer.
Some choose to defend and fight for their country, others do it because they wanna be a hero.

Well, in Poland they weren't, until now... and Ukraine is even worse. Imagine your country treats you as a piece of meat to defend rich that always escape.

It's really different in every country. It depends on how many people are there for example. Here, in China, we even have many young men who are willing to join the army but they can't (not enough free positions)... Poland, well, it's a country with smaller population (compared to India, China, Indonesia) and it's close to a big war (Russia-Ukraine) so, I suppose the situation for the males there isn't very "relax".

We wish the Polish people peace and security! :-*

I am not sure if the Polish situation is exactly like that but I know the Ukrainian better. The problem is (as George Orwell wrote in one of his articles) that when a democratic country (well, Ukraine was at least 50-60% democratic) fights against a totalitarian state (like the present Russia, which is something like a country with an emperor, an empire) than, until there is a war, the democratic country have no choice but to use non-democratic methods like to forbid the people to leave it and to go fighting (of course, it's only if the country wants to survive; the other choice is to be enslaved or puppet-ed, i. e. semi-colonized).
Being a Russian small neighbor country today is sort of scary, except you're not North Korea maybe.  ::)

In fact, they do not defend only the rich, they do defend the poor who otherwise are going to be: rocketed, bombed, raped, hammered and so on.  The present Russian cruelty is obvious (of course there are cruel soldiers in every army but the Russian problem is from the top to the bottom)... so, as I mentioned, what is the other choice? To surrender and to become a part of Russia or to be separated between Russia and Poland (I know there are still those Polish ultra-nationalists who want to take some Ukrainian lands back), or to become a puppet state (semi-colony) of Russia? Most of the Ukrainians want to be a part of the EU, so it's not in their interest to accept the Russians.
And about that -- I said it before in a Bulgarian post: "During the wars, the biggest and the most pity victims are the poor people! The rich ones, usually, are able to avoid it."  :(
I do think so because I am a person with socialistic values (I like the Fabianism -- "whose purpose is to advance the principles of social democracy and democratic socialism via gradualist and reformist effort in democracies, rather than by revolutionary overthrow.") So, I am a pacifist too. 100% anti-war oriented!!!

Lexi, there are some different types of soldiers.

a) the volunteers

b) the mercenaries (aka soldiers of fortune and aka hired guns)

c) the regular army soldiers (which (the army) sometimes isn't completed by just by the volunteers and the mercenaries. Usually they're not enough.)

Well, you're 99% right, yet at the same time this country should nationalise houses when at war so you're not left alone like piece of trash to live on street or pay high price for rent, and treat men and women equally. This is certainly not Ukraine, where rich can pay to escape and some have profit from renting houses. Also as a cosmopolitan I think no country should be left alone in such situation and yes, it's better to escape and lose all property than life. When everyone would want to escape maybe finally neighbouring countries will understand we cannot just watch poeple near us die, because we will be next. Poland experienced very hard situation when allies don't want to engage in war and soon other countries experienced war too. I know solutions I suppose are considered utopian those times, yet they should be introduced if we don't want wars between countries. NATO is basically what I say, the problem is that it's only part of the world and rest is left alone. And about Poland: obligatory military service would be ok, but it's of course made polish way, as a political tool not to increase security, and it causes trouble for people running businesses - you can't choose deadline, military (or government) chooses it for you. So they now can give you troubles when you are against government.

But in Russia also the same: the rich guys are able to pay for overpriced plane tickets and to run away in some rich country... the poor ones only have to line up with hope Mongolia, Kazakhstan or something similar to accept them... and the very poor even can't reach the border... The poor people are usually the first victims of wars, pandemics, even earthquakes...

Like the Chads and the incels... when a Chad is in trouble his looks can give him some chance, but when an incel is in trouble, ohhhh, nobody cares... some even are wishing him the worst...

As a pacifist and a real socialist/communist I don't wan't to take a side in a war... but when blatantly one is an invador who strikes even civil objects (the same did NATO in Yugoslavia, thus I started to dislike NATO too), then I just can't support Russia's imperialistic-like things. At the same time, I don't think Ukraine is an angel, not at all. I don't think the ordinary Russians are devils, not at all... I am just thinking that it is a really counter-productive war and it ruined a lot of our chances. (And if you add the counter-productiveness of the same kind of the nowadays Chinese emperor-like president...) There is no some hope. The West wins not because it's so better, it wins because the Russian and the Chinese leaders aren't normal persons.

On EU level and concretely in France, Germany... news are clear that the leaders are talking more and more for readiness to fight against Russia. USA (Biden) also said that Putin's not gonna stop only with Ukraine.

If the China's Xi also invade somebody (the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Bhutan,...) then we'll have a total WW3.

Yeah... Even NATO-Russia tensions above the Black sea region near the occupied Crimea.
