It has been a long time and now I'm finally back to the SEO business again XD.
But anyway, recently I've been told that guest posting/blogging is better and much more popular for link buildings currently. I've also taken a bit research about it and basically I understand it as asking another site owners (blog, newspaper, etc...) to publish my articles, including links point to my ranking site. Of course related sites are necessary to have a quality link; however, I don't think asking other owners to publish my article isn't that easy (unlike what my friend said which sounded too easy to be true).
And so I would like hear some more opinion about it, is it excellent for page ranking and is it hard to do it (I mean it must require some sort of planning right?)?

Some owners may be happy to get free unique content, others -- not that happy, but still will be able to negotiate. And, surely, there are some owners who will not only refuse it, but even will not take time to talk to you carefully and patiently. It's the same in many other fields (it's not only a SEO linkbuilding phenomenon). :)
I'd like to read some more opinions, of course. 8)

Guest posting is so imp. activity in SEO, if you get right website which is related to your niche then it helps you.

Google: The Guest Post Link Warning Was Just A General Reminder,If you do guest blogging or article publishing for the purpose of link building, with the intent of manipulating Google's search results - then that is something Google can and does penalize for.

SEO as Search Engine Optimization is good, but the SEM (Search Engine Manipulation) is bad. We do support only white hat SEO and green hat SEO. So, only good SEO, please.
