  Most probably the best is Facebook, because according to Alexa.com (http://www.alexa.com/topsites) it's currently number 3 (3-rd in the world). The second best is Twitter (which is currently number 8, i.e. 8-th in the world).
 Of course, if someone else has another point of view, he/she is welcome to share it. We're always glad to read more posts over here! 8)

Hey, it's depends what kind of traffic you want to increase. Sometimes a local social site and/or a niche social site may be more useful for you, if you need targeted traffic. :)

 Yes, maybe so, but it's not the same the quantity -- some will increase it with 1-2 visitors, others will increase it with 100-200 visitors. They're just different and they've different potential.

Andrea, may I know how well increased your traffic from Linkedin? I really want to know is it better than Twitter, for example, when it comes to increasing traffic? For example in your case/experience how many more visitors you are getting from there (Linkedin)? Around what? 10, 100, 1000, 10 000...? How many?
