hi, as i heard somewhere which i am sharing with you, tHE world drank the equivalent of 6.1 litres of pure alcohol per person in 2005, according to a report from the World Health Organisation published on February 11th. The biggest boozers are mostly found in Europe and in the former Soviet states. Moldovans are the most bibulous, getting through 18.2 litres each, nearly 2 litres more than the Czechs in second place. Over 10 litres of a Moldovan's annual intake is reckoned to be 'unrecorded' home-brewed liquor, making it particularly harmful to health. Such moonshine accounts for almost 30% of the world's drinking. The WHO estimates that alcohol results in 2.5m deaths a year, more than AIDS or tuberculosis. In Russia and its former satellite states one in five male deaths is caused by drink.

Have to admit I enjoy my couple of glasses of wine per evening.  One could say it lifts the spirits and most Aussies would agree with me.

I don't believe my couple of glasses are harmfull to me SEO.

When I go to my docs for my annual check up she says what ever you are doing keep it up so I thought that is good enough for me.  I am 65 now and have enjoyed by red wine for decades.

Ofcourse drinking excessively is bad for you.

Thank you.  I live in a little village just over 200 homes for over 50's.  I would say 95% have their wine, sherry or beer each day. It is funny about 4.00p.m. you see quite a few people walking down the street with the glass of wine or what ever visiting friends.  Haven't quite worked out why they just don't leave a bottle at the people's place.  Perhaps they are worried they will take a nip.

This Sunday we are having ladies over for wine and nibbles.

Cheers to everyone.

Too much consumption of alcohol leads to various health problems in males and females including obesity, stomach cancer, difficulty in breathing, liver and kidney damage, erectile dysfunction problem. All these diseases are caused by drinking alcohol in high amount. Those who want to live healthy and disease free life must stay away from alcohol and such drinks that are really unhealthy for you.

Parents' divorce is not good. But, you may tell her, that at least she has a live parents. Some of us have no live parents. That's even more terrible.

Drinking some beer or wine, or something like this isn't a problem for an adult (if he/she is a healthy one), but addiction is too bad! You're right: the guys should protect your health, don't consume too much alcohol!!!

Interestingly enough, people who excessively use alcohols tend to be people with serious problems in their life (divorce, job-less, families issue, .etc...). They tend to use alcohol as a method to ease the pain, but sad thing is that 'method' is only short term method. After they drunk, they wake up in the morning, they back to reality and see the their problem again, and then they keep drinking with hope that problem will 'magically' disappear.
That's what I mostly see in my region in term of alcohol. My current neighborhood also has the same problem but somehow... more tragic. The youngest son of that family always get drunk (let see approximately 3-4 days/week, and yes I count as day not times). Everytime he get drunk, his mother scolds him, and then he insults his very blood-related mother (no kidding, it's real). And then his older brother scolds and insults him, that older brother is really mad and he wants to kick the younger brother many times but the mother stops him from doing that. And as you guess the cycle keeps continuing (younger bro get drunk - mother scold - older bro scold - mother defend the younger bro - again). In this case somehow I would say it is more tragic than having some one lost cuz... this is serious conflict between the people within the same family, blood-related.
