Shangri-la

Shangri-la means "ideal heaven" in Tibetan. Tibetan language documents had recorded this word more than a thousand years ago. Shangri-la became famous after the novel Lost Horizon by James Hilton(1900–1954)published in 1933.
In Tibetan, Shangri- La means a place of good fortune and luck. Located in the midst of three rivers; the torrential Jinsha, Langcang and Nujiang, Shangri-La is a sacred scenic region with distinguishing features.
In this peaceful land, a quiet lake, sacred temple, the simplicity of the Kamba, the azure sky, the breathtaking beauty and the hospitality of unsophisticated people who welcome weary travelers to their homeland, all such people dream of the Garden of Eden - Shangri-La.

Here is a hotel with the same name nearby. :) (Maybe some of you think it's not that important but I'm reminding you, that this is the Omnilogy forum, i. e. the Everythinglogy forum (Everythingology forum) and that's why every information (that isn't against the rules) is welcome! 8)) And of course, more content = better chance for the progress of the forum!
