Search engine cannot process images to get contents. For example if you have an image only website, search engine will not have opportunity to get to know about your contents. Hence you will not get SEO rank. Also images will affect website download speed. Website download speed is a SEO factor. So do not stuff your pages with images.

Just adding images will not serve any purpose. You need to add links to it and add description so that it will be indexed in google images. So whenever someone searches for a particular image in Google Image, your pictures may turn up and chances are that he will be taken to your site.

Seems to me like most new business is received through word of mouth and Facebook is a great way for your clients "friends" and family to find you...... Is this true?

Hello MaryOlson.. here you have started a good conversation. Yes.. images is important in our daily life including SEO. We are well known about "A picture is worth 1000 words". Same theory apply when Search Engine Optimizer when put the images with Alt tag.. it gives a visible result as the high ranking in Search Engine Result page.

So.. we should have no doubt in mind about the importance of images on our professional life..
