Arab Dates
An
Arab date is a traditional food in the
UAE that is served with rich, thick coffee or used to break a fast.
Date palm trees line the streets and produce this delicious fruit.
Date palms are grown in more than 40 countries. The Arab world has more than 84 million date palm trees, 70 million of which are in Iraq, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Bahrain, Oman, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria.
The ancients called
Arab dates "sweets on the trees". They are popular in the Middle East and North Africa region as a common food for thousands of years. Arab dates have very
high nutritional value and they are also known as the Desert bread.
