People of which country are the richest?
« on: January 26, 2024, 11:26:13 AM »
As the proclaim, the wealth of a country is a different story from the wealth of the ppl of it.

For ex China is like one of the richest countries, but how about Chinese?

I think the answer is either Britain or America.

Though there are many homeless people in America, people's avg income is the most all over the world and the fees in America are not as high as those in Europe.

Oh and the taxes.

Because Europe highly tax people to benefit them in infrastructure, medicine, education etc., as opposed to China which only highly tax people to benefit officials in their own lives... It's ridiculously unfortunate but you can still see a big portion of Chineses defending CCP against “反贼”,“行走的50w”, and “1450”...

The culprits will take me lots of efforts and time to be elucidated, but to make long story short, yeah the brainwashing of CCP lol.

If you think of PER CAPITA, it should be something like these (forget US or GB):  Luxembourg, Singapore, Dubai, Monaco, Qatar... Small, rich countries with small population = rich population.

China maybe one of the richest about the GDP but "GDP : all Chinese" = "GDP per capita". And then Chinese are more poor than even some like Thais or Polish.
I will not write about SEO, but about love, food, UFO, sport, psychology, paranormal and everything else I like.

My friend, you are one of the most informed and intelligent young Chinese I know. But in this case you're wrong (about the second part of the problem you wrote about). The first part is correct 💯, that a rich country doesn't mean rich population and India is one of the best examples. But let me go to the second part: you, as many other Chinese citizens, overestimate the wealth of the average US citizen. So your guess that the richest people are the USA's or Britain's is wrong. According to the CIA's factbook, the richest (GDP per Capita) are Liechtenstein, Monaco, Luxembourg, Singapore, Ireland and Qatar. And, as you know, most of them are unknown to most of the Chinese who know only around 10-15 countries around the world. The geography knowledge of many Chinese isn't good, it's a fact that I am writing objectively, regardless that I am a Chinese fan. But back to the USA and UK. You don't have to compare them with the top richest like Liechtenstein or Monaco! Even Switzerland or Norway (pet capita) are better.
USA is between SAR Macao (澳门) and Brunei. And UK is worse, it's between Taiwan and France.
So, I am not saying that the average citizen of USA and UK is too poor, of course, we (people from East Europe and China) can dream to have their GDP per capita. ;D I just disagree to put them on the top which is far away from the reality. About China's GDP per capita, currently it's around the level of Mexico and Thailand. Developing countries' level... It seems to me I should refreash my perception about American's avg wealth and British's avg wealth by the newest data lol. Back in 2015 the GDP per capita of America was the highest

I had a girlfriend (a female friend) who was thinking that if a country is bigger it's just enough to be richer and its population richer. Her logic was very funny and it was funny because she got university degree in humanitarian subject which means she wasn't an ignorant ordinary chick. So, she was thinking like this: Canada - big -> rich people, Brazil - big -> rich people.  ;D I think that she thought Indians in India are very rich too (because India is so big and powerful) .  :P

I tried to explain to her once only, that I met people from a way smaller countries like Sweden, South Korea and Belgium who were richer than 100 Brazilians or Indians, but she still thinks that if the country is very powerful (all those useless for us rockets, territory, tanks, whatever) it's 100% sure that it's providing a good standard for the citizens there.

Don't expect people to understand you. Because you're such a clever and smart boy and... even you didn't know that USA or GB are way behind "small players" like Ireland, Singapore, Brunei and even our favorite Macao and Taiwan.  :) But sure, you got the most impotant which is rich country =/= rich citizens.

USA never was in the Top 5 even. Always it was like Singapore, Brunei, Macao, Luxembourg, Qatar or others like Liechtenstein, Ireland, Monaco, Hongkong. USA are too populated to be in the top GDP per Capita but still, in terms of incelosphere they are never GigaChad but a 8/10 Chad. UK may be considered as a Chadlite.

I remembered something very important about it. One should never forger because when it is about the GDP per capita, it also matters which place (city, town, village) in the country you're talking about!!! :) For example, some little towns in a very rich (per capita) country (like Finland, Norway, Sweden, etc.) have got less (GDP per capita) than some cities in countries like India, China, Mexico, etc.
Let's see Shanghai, taken alone, as an example. According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Chinese_administrative_divisions_by_GDP_per_capita, in 2022 it (Shanghai, China) had GDP per capita of USD 26747. More than the average GDP per capita of some countries in Europe (like Serbia, Belarus and even the EU's Bulgaria.) Shanghai's level is around the average one of Malaysia (USD 26300). (All data seen in https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/field/real-gdp-per-capita/country-comparison.) But if you live in China's Guizhou province, where the GDP per capita was USD 7779, oh, it's really another story. This GDP per capita is around the one of Laos (USD 7800) or Venezuela (USD 7704)...
I bet that it also matters which district of Shanghai we're taking into consideration, when we are going to make the conclusions about this kind of matter.
And, at the end, as my friend said
Quote
the wealth of a country is a different story from the wealth of the ppl of it.
and I'd like to use it to say "the wealth of a city is a different story from the wealth of the people of it", i. e. even in (not poor) cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, etc., there were and there will be poor people and very poor people.
If you want to learn about it (the wealth, money, rich and poor) more, take a time to see a very important index -- the Gini index (which helps you better to know the matters related to the GDPs per capita, especially). 8)
