Marquesas Islands

http://cdn7.wn.com/pd/da/65/e724583430155ea0ce165d51d77f_grande.jpg

Inspired and captivated by the idyllic tropical scenery, lush green vegetation overflowing with orchids, spider lilies and ginger jasmines, vibrant culture and warm welcoming hospitality of the locals, many artists, poets, adventurers and musicians, like Gauguin, Jack London, Herman Melville and Captain James Cook have considered the remote and fascinating Marquesas Islands as a fantastic "hideaway" to give freedom to their creative minds and souls. They have recorded in song and captured on canvas the smiling faces of children leaving school, the spectacular beauty of dense tropical forests, the magnificent waterfalls, violent and rocky coast, distant beaches, as well as a horde of wild horses on a deserted plateau.

Known as "Te Henua Enana" or "Land of Men" in Polynesian, the volcanic Marquesas Islands is one of the most scenic regions in the world due to its coast made up of wonderful bays and dramatic cliffs front, offering still pristine mysterious ambience waiting to be discovered. Unique to Marquesas Islands is that there is no reef and volcanic islands just pop out from the deep blue ocean.

Situated on the eastern edge of Polynesia, approximately 930 miles northeast of Tahiti, the Marquesas Islands comprise an isolated group of 12 volcanic islands, of which 2 are small rock islands and only 6 are inhabited. Divided into two groups of northern Marquesas, discovered by U.S. sailors in the 18th century, and southern Marquesas, discovered by Spaniards in 16th century, the islands cover a land area of 492 square miles and have a population of more than 7,500.

Formed from two volcanoes, Nuku Hiva (formerly known as Île Marchand and Madison Island), is the largest of the Marquesas Islands, offering tourists magnificent landscapes, intriguing archeology, quality wooden handicrafts and a plethora of activities to enjoy and experience, such as hiking, horseback riding and diving. Nuku Hiva is a magical island with an abundance of natural wonders, like 1000-foot waterfalls, towering mountains, and rich flora and fauna. The town of Taiohae is the administrative capital of the Marquesas Islands, situated at the foot of the deep Taiohae Bay.

The seahorse-shaped Hiva Oa is the largest of southern group of the Marquesas archipelago, featuring deep beautiful valleys, a lush plateau and dense forests. Sightseeing highlights include Paul Gauguin Museum where you can find items related to the painter's stay, and copies of his works, the Oipona me'ae temple, the eight feet tiki Takaii, the largest stone tiki in Polynesia as well as the pretty bays of Nahoe and Hanamenu. Hiva Oa is also recognized for the amazing Tahuata, the visible remains of a huge sunken volcano.

Marquesas Islands offer many land and water activities to make your holidays unforgettable. You can choose from a wide selection of adventures including land excursions, picnics on the beach or mountains, safari truck, hiking over mountain trails and to inland cascades, motorboat rides, deep-sea fishing and other water sports.

The primary accommodations in Marquesas Islands are mainly found in the islands of Nuku Hiva and Hiva Oa, treating guests to unparallel comfort and warm traditional hospitality. Hiva Oa Hanakee Pearl Lodge is a wonderful getaway with contemporary comforts and breathtaking views of the rugged coast. Facing the fantastic mount Temetiu (3,903 feet), the hotel boasts 20 bungalows, each with a private terrace and other room amenities. You can find an elegantly designed swimming pool with plenty of nearby activities. Baby sitting is available upon request.

Tachia Island

http://www.gz76.com/Article/UploadFiles/200907/20090722162806275.jpg

The scenery of Tachia Island is very beautiful, crystal clear water, many unnamed small beaches with a beautiful landscape, a place for pure vistas of island tourism.

Things to do
:

Rent a small boat, lie in your favorite bay
In fact, There are no specific attractions in Shenzhen Tachia Island, one after another unnamed Gulf is its brand. Especially in some coves with few visitors, the water is particular clear and the sand is fine.
But it's not sure you can walk to these coves, you can rent a fisherman's boat,  freely go around the island to see which bay is the most beautiful and stop, swim, rest, enjoy sea breeze blowing.

To Moon Bay to enjoy the undersea beauty
In addition, from some information,  on the beach of Moon Bay Tachia Island, at both ends of the offshore in water depth of twelve meters is the coral reef zone, you can see a variety of corals, fish, shellfish and other aquatic life. Visitors with diving permits may be interested in this area, but for ordinary visitors, it's better to rent a boat to watch from the sea, maybe in a good light,  you can see the beauty of the coral reefs.

Once described by world famous writer and adventurer Robert Louis Stevenson as the "Pearl of the Pacific", the mystical Marshall Islands is blessed with mesmerizing natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, boasting innumerable activities and tourist attractions in and around the islands.

Nestled in the west-central part of the Pacific Ocean, north of Nauru and Kiribati, the marvelous Marshal Islands is made up of two nearly parallel chains of atolls, Ratak (the so-called "Sunrise" chain) and Ratik ("Sunset"), comprising 29 atolls and 5 individual islands within 750, 000 square miles of the tranquil ocean, each with its own places of interest. The double chains together contain 1,200 islands and islets, most islands being atoll formations consisting of low-lying narrow strips of land. Kwajalein Atoll (in the Ralik chain) is considered the largest atoll in the world and serves as the transportation hubs for the marshal islands, including air service and shipping.

Majuro, comprising 3 islands- Delap, Uliga and Darrit (Rita), is the capital and economic center of the islands, located at the summit of the atolls reef with its stunning Lagoon, covering an area of 114 sq miles and ranging in depths from 10 to 250 feet. The Lagoon is famous for its breathtaking hard coral gardens featuring more than 160 species of coral and over 800 species of fish, sea stars and many other tropical marine habitats. Majuro is the most developed atoll in Marshal Islands, housing more than 30,000 inhabitants.

Majuro accommodations include several hotels, one of which is the best-known RRE Hotel wonderfully situated on the lagoon. This reasonably priced hotel features standard rooms with exceptional views, waterfront bungalows suites, add to these a wealth of the activities on the island. Marshall Islands experience typical warm tropical climate, the temperatures hovering between 26C and 32C with little variation during the year. Two seasons are underlined: the dry season (December and April) and the rainy season (April to December).

Travelers flocking to Marshall Islands will never fall short of striking places to explore, including amusement-parks, natural, historical and religious sightseeing, lush botanical gardens, majestic silvery sand beaches, Canyons, forests and zoos.

The Marshall islands are known world-wide as fishers' and divers' paradise. The dive sites are almost unparallel in their pristine untouched beauty, and are seen with great clarity due to the magnificent underwater visibility. Diving and snorkeling opportunities include drop-offs, coral heads, as well as black coral and World War II wrecks. Whether you plan a week's trip to the island, a short getaway or an extended vacation on the island, do not miss out to indulge yourself in loads of adventure and leisure activities available on Marshall Islands.

There is so much to experience and enjoy here, both on the beautiful islands and out on the bountiful seas that it's not a surprise that Marshal Islands is one of the most unique and famous places in the world to visit.

Montserrat

Montserrat

Looking for an unusual Caribbean getaway with the unique opportunity to watch a still active volcano? Head to Montserrat- an "Emerald Isle" rising from ashes and covered in lush, green rainforest. Columbus was the first to discover the island and name it 'Santa Maria de Montserrat' after the famous monastery on the mountain of Montserrat in Catalonia. Welcoming smiles, pure serenity, quietude and peace as well as perfect relaxation are what you should expect from the island. Those who have ever visited this tiny tropical paradise will perhaps agree that Montserrat is the friendliest island in the Caribbean.

Located southeast of Puerto Rico and southwest of Antigua, the pear-shaped island of Montserrat is a British territory with an area of 102 square kilometers. The island is reached by ferry or helicopter from Antigua. The highest point is Chances Peak rising to 915 meters. Montserrat is home to over 5000 residents, most being decedents of former African slaves, characterized by warm and hospitable nature. Montserrat enjoys a tropical climate with little seasonal variations, the temperature hovering between 22C and 31C year-round.

For such a tiny place Montserrat offers unique Caribbean vacations with a wealth of things to see and to. The major tourist attractions include: Montserrat's Soufriere Hills Volcano, the silver seashores with azure blue waters and the exotic black sandy beaches, most secluded and still pristine. The island offers great diving, fishing, boating, kayaking, hiking adventures and many other experiences.

Montserrat's Soufriere Hills Volcano (French "Sulphur" Hills) is a typical subduction volcano formed at the junction of the Atlantic tectonic plate and the Caribbean plate. Towering 3,000 feet above sea level, the volcano first erupted in 1995, after more than a century of slumber, destroying the former capital of Plymouth, because of which many habitants had to move overseas or the North of island. Scientists call this volcano one of the most interesting in the world.

The remarkable Montserrat's beaches, with their soft pearl-grey volcanic sand are something not-to-be-missed. Those who want to swim and sunbathe on the beaches are really blessed as they will find the most calming and leisurely experience available. The easy accessible and non-crowded Woodlands beach is one of the most popular black-sand beaches, evidence of the island's volcanic origin. The only white-sand beach that you will find on the island is the pristine Rendezvous bay. The reef off this secluded beach boasts some of the best snorkeling in Montserrat.

Another popular attraction Montserrat offers is the turtle-watching, featuring over 7 turtle species in the world, the three of which, including Green Turtle, the Hawksbill Turtle and Loggerhead Turtle are found nesting on sands of the island's beaches between August and September.

Accommodations in Montserrat are very limited. You can find only one hotel - Tropical Mansion Suites, several guest houses and villas, all promising warm friendly atmosphere and excellent service with amenities such as swimming pools, wet bars and cable TVs.

Holidays in Montserrat are a unique and special experience. Scenic beauty consisting of natural landscapes and hills, historical sites, water adventures, trails to be hiked and many more will all enchant you in Montserrat.

Other Maputo attractions include broad avenues lined with acacias and jacarandas, Portuguises-style buildings, vibrant markets, several street cafes and bars as well as excellent nightlife and discos. History enthusiasts will enjoy Maputo's Museum of the Revolution or the historic lighthouse on Inhaca Island.

If you are seeking a relaxing lazy day on the beach head to the small town of Xai Xai located some 200 km north of Maputo, boasting a wide range of shops, restaurants and most of all superb scuba diving and snorkeling opportunities. Nearby you can find fresh water lakes with the best kayaking, paddle skiing and surfing experiences.

Activities in Mozambique are plenty and diverse, including hiking tours, Safari drives, dune boarding, pony trekking, canoeing, water skiing, scuba diving and snorkeling, fishing, swimming and mountain climbing.

Though Mozambique is on its way to become a perfect tourist destination, it still offers something for every visitor to enjoy: from historical attractions and natural wonders to loads of land and water activities. Southern Mozambique is home to many magical and exceptional beaches with Africa's best kept secrets waiting to be discovered. Those looking for beaches should head straight to Vilanculos, where you will find golden beaches fringed by swaying palms and clear turquoise waters of one of the most untouched corners of the planet. And if you are a nature enthusiast, a visit to the Bazaruto Archipelago, a protected National Park, is a must. There are no roads, no shops or tourist attractions in this picturesque spot, the only thing the five pristine islands offer is the incredible natural beauty. Mozambique is also a perfect place to begin or conclude a safari in southern or eastern Africa.

With many Mozambique lodges, museums, restaurants, beaches, an upbeat atmosphere, overflowing markets activities and sights to see, a Mozambique vacation is all about relaxation and fun!

Mozambique is an ideal "getaway" for unforgettable family vacationers and romantic honeymooners, offering excellent accommodation options, from basic self-catering bungalows, game and safari lodges, motels, bush camps and small guest-houses to luxury intimate beach resorts, spas and world-class hotels, distributed in the capital Maputo and in different regions.

The superior Polana Hotel, one of Africa's finest five-star hotels situated in the heart of the capital Maputo, is a stunning and gracious haven recalling the elegance and splendor of old colonial times. The hotel features 168 spacious rooms, 9 executive suites and 9 garden suites, all with modern amenities and state-of-the-art facilities. You can find several restaurants with stylish international and piquant local cuisine, a superb well-equipped gym, conference center, one of Africa's most elegantly designed and panoramically luxuriant swimming pools, as well as a vibrant entertainment schedule.

Another best-known hotel in Mozambique is the Pemba Beach Hotel situated in the quiet town of Pemba, boasting 102 elegantly furnished charming rooms with private balconies overlooking the azure Indian Ocean. Nauru

Nauru

The deep, blue waters of South Pacific Ocean are home to thousands of islands, from tiny coral atolls to rugged volcanic outcrops like Kosrae and the islands of Pohnpei. Between them the tiny island of Nauru (with a population of less than 10,000) offers an extraordinary history, spectacularly beautiful nature, ivory beaches fringed by palm trees, and a wide range of adventures found in no other region on earth. If you want to explore and experience the real South Pacific or if it is isolation and tranquility you seek, a visit to the wonderfully isolated island of Nauru is right for you.

Being the world's smallest island nation and the only independent state in the world without an official capital, the oval-shaped island of Nauru (21 sq km) is surrounded by coral reef rising abruptly from the ocean dotted by coral pinnacles, and is considered one of the three great phosphate rock islands in the Pacific Ocean. People in Nauru are called Nauruan primcipally living along coastal strip and around Buada Lagoon, and are generally descendents of Polynesian, Micronesian and Melanesian ancestry. Non-Nauruans are mainly other Pacific Islanders, Chinese, Australian and New Zealand expatriates. Recently, Nauru has won the dubious distinction of being declared as the world's fattest nation.

Being close to the equator, Nauru experiences hot and extremely humid climate throughout all the year with steady temperatures hovering between 24℃ (75℉) and 33℃ (91℉). November to February is characterized by monsoon downpours with an average annual rainfall of around 200 cm. The dry season of Nauru is accompanied by the easterly trade winds. Nauru, once known as "the Pleasant Island" offers travelers a truly unique and unequalled Pacific Island experience with loads of "to see" and "to do" things. A tourist to Nauru can expect an unexplored territory with majestic vistas, and pristine beauty still untouched by the locals.

The island offers a perfect getaway for both land and water enthusiasts, including the best scuba diving adventures, magnificent jungle treks, wonderful hiking and walking opportunities, shopping in Nauru's several shopping destinations, dining in fine restaurants, bird watching tours and plenty of water activities, including excellent deep sea game fishing, shark watching, swimming and sailing. Several easily accessible and uncrowned beaches are also available in Nauru, including the best-known white-sand Anibare Bay, where swimming is nothing else but a treat.

And if you want to explore and experience the island fully, you can hire a car. Do not miss out to see the plateau where the mining is done. Once the phosphate is removed all that remains is limestone pinnacles giving the area a moonscape look.

Both accommodation and eating are costly in Nauru. You can find only two hotels in Nauru, one of which is the recently refurbished 119 bedroom Menen Hotel, with amenities including swimming pool, conference hall, hot tub, snorkeling and tennis courts. The bars and restaurants serve international cuisine offering breathtaking views of the Pacific. Though is not a typical tourist destination, Menen Hotel has gained a reputation of one of the Pacific's most comfortable hotels.

Welcome to Nauru- a nation where laughter rings out in the most unlikely places. Enjoy the welcoming hospitality of Nauruan people who are traditional pleasure-seekers that love dancing, singing and dressing flamboyantly in their local fashion.

The name of Nicaragua is derived from Nicarao, the name of a tribe settled on the shore of Lago de Nicaragua before the Spanish conquest of the Americas and Agua (meaning "water" in Spanish), due to the presence of the large lakes Lago de Nicaragua (Cocibolca) and Lago de Managua (Xolotlin), as well as plenty of lagoons and rivers in the region.

It's a stunning hotel boasting 7 restaurants, 2 elegantly designed swimming pools, 292 spacious rooms including 202 bungalows, bingo hall and casino, magnificent terraces and gardens and fully-equipped gymnasium. To be the world's smallest independent nation is something extraordinary. No standard Pacific experience! No hustle and bustle of modern city life! No palm-fringed beaches! No crowds-ever! Such is Niue- one of the world's largest coral atolls nestled in the heart of triangle formed by Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands in the South Pacific, 2,400 km north-east of New Zealand. Populated by less than 2,000 inhabitants, the charm of the island is maintained by friendly, hospitable locals. In this safe destination, where crime is almost unheard of, you will discover what has been lost in contemporary life!

The word "Niue" is pronounced like "new-way". Niue (derived from niu, meaning 'coconut tree' and known as 'Rock of Polynesia') is an eco-tourist's paradise, boasting pristine natural beauty, rugged coastline surrounded by tropical virgin rainforest, spectacular underwater 'cathedrals' and unique coral formations. Discover the magic of the caves and limestone chasms, explore the most stunning caves of the Pacific, swim with whales and dolphins and experience unreal adventures in this remote alluring paradise. The island is blessed warm days and pleasantly cool nights. December to March are the hurricane months the average temperatures rising to 27C, while April to November is characterized by southeast trade winds, with average temperatures of 24C.

The island of Niue was first sighted by the English navigator James Cook in 1774, but Niuean warriors thrice refused him to land in Niue. Cook departed, but charted Niue and named it Savage Island.

A limited choice of accommodation is available in Niue, including a resort, a handful of hotels, several guest houses, motels, cottages and spa. If you have planned a long stay, ask around about renting a house. Matavai Resort is the premier accommodation venue in Niue, featuring two cliffside swimming pools, restaurant, bars, gift shop, ocean views and free bikes, golf clubs and tennis rackets.

Niue is also a popular honeymoon destination for couples seeking quietude and tranquilities. The welcoming Niuean people are always willing to assist in arranging honeymoon and wedding ceremonies. Day by day, the island is becoming more and more popular with couples looking for an ideal romantic 'hideaway'.

Niue is famous for its rich tropical flora and fauna. The crystal-clear, shallow waters and swimming coves teem with countless species of colorful tropical fish, providing exhilarating diving and snorkeling opportunities. Niue waters amaze divers with over 70 m visibility. Butterflies are another point of interest, spread everywhere like orchids, hibiscus, frangipani and bougainvillea. The birdlife is rich, including an abundance of weka, pigeons and long-tailed terns. Do not miss out exciting rainforest adventures! Walk through the untouched legendary forests and explore the amazingly beautiful caves and natural attractions.

Matapa Chasm is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Niue, famous for its fabulous swimming and snorkeling area. Another highlight is the Arches of Talva, reached along an extension of the coastal road just north of Hikutavake. Other tourist attractions include Houme Chasm, Makalea Cave and Limu Reef. Welcome to this still undiscovered paradise and be the first to enjoy Niue's sublime, pristine beauty!

Pitcairn Islands

Pitcairn Islands

Sometimes when life gets tense and stressful, the best thing to do is to find solitude and peace in one of the most remote and inaccessible places on earth, far from the hustle and bustle of life. Do not think it's quite easy to get to such places but once you are there; you will surely enjoy quietude and tranquility. Lonely, isolated and remote- such is Pitcairn Islands, still remaining one of the world's most isolated inhabited places. Around fifty people live on the island, a fact that in today's world really seems unlikely, however, it does exist. And if you decide to step away to this small remote island, make sure to arrange a stay with natives (only nine families) as well as written permission from the government which is compulsory. Pitcairn Islands is the last British colony in South Pacific with the capital Adamstown.

The Pitcairn Island group is a small volcanic outcrop, nestled nearly dead in the heart of the South Pacific more than 2,200 km southeast of Tahiti, bounded by rocks and high cliffs on all sides. Reaching 347 meters at the Pawala Ridge above sea level, the island covers a total area of 47 square kilometers.

Pitcairn is the only populated island with no beaches, bearing its name after 15-year-old shipman Robert Pitcairn, who was the first to sight the islands in 1767. The other three islands are volcanic atolls, including the uninhabited Henderson, Oeno and Ducie. The World Heritage-listed Henderson is a raised coral island, six times larger than Pitcairn and is famous for rich variety of animals and endemic birdlife. The island of Ducie is only one and a half miles long, housing a deep lagoon noted for its poisonous fish and extremely dangerous sharks. Oeno boasts pristine breathtaking beauty and a few sandy beaches.

Pitcairn Islands enjoy a moderate subtropical climate, modified by southeast trade winds with temperatures hovering between 19C in August to 24C in February. November to March experiences heavy downpours with occasional hurricanes rarely causing severe damage.

There are no airline flies to Pitcairn but one can be lucky to find scheduled passenger boats to get to the island. Limited yacht charters are also available from French Polynesia. The main form of transportation around the main island Pitcairn is the ATV's (All Terrain Vehicles).

Tourist attractions in Pitcairn Islands include Bounty Bay, where divers can explore the shipwrecked remains of Bounty lying three meters below the water; the Pitcairn Island Museum, located in the Adamstown, which is home to a collection of aircrafts from the Bounty and other interesting items from the Bounty mutineers, including stamps, a bible belonging to Fletcher Christian and other things; as well as St Paul's pool, a favorite swimming spot, offering a cool dip in its electric blue, crystal clear waters. You can explore around the island on foot in about half an hour.

Other activities include sailing in the waters that surround the island of Pitcairn, great snorkeling and scuba diving adventures, as well as plenty of recreational activities, such as picnicking.

Do not miss out the chance to get a breathtaking overview of the island from a couple of vantage points, including the Highest Point and Garnet's Ridge. Enjoy your trip to the fullest!
